No cell coverage

MilGPS will find your location without cell phone coverage. The iPhone has a full GPS receiver in it that does not depend on cell network augmentation.

Please note the following when operating without cell coverage:

  • Location fixes will be slower, up to 5 mins for the initial fix from a cold start. Subsequent fixes should be at normal speed (approx 1 per second).
  • Viewing maps requires a data connection of some kind. If none is available, it is recommended that you choose the "blank" map type on the map screen to remove the placeholder image.
