MilGPS Privacy Policy

This policy details the information we (Cascode Labs Pty Ltd) collect through your usage of MilGPS.

Information We Collect

No information is collected from the app unless you explicitly send it to us or use certain features.

Old versions of the app prior to v7.0.2 collected a small amount of anonymous data about your device and app settings/features in use.

If you enable the MilGPS API

The app may periodically connect to our servers to fetch notices and app content. Some anonymous information such as the app version and device model in use may be sent to our servers to ensure relevant content is returned. Our web service keeps temporary logs of requests including basic technical info like IP addresses. Users are prompted for permission before any connection is made and opt-out is possible at any time at Settings -> MilGPS API.

If you use Google Maps

If you choose to use Google Maps as your map source within the app then the services and software used to display these maps may collect information about you. This may include your location and the map regions you are looking at. Please refer to the Google Privacy Policy for more information.

If you use Apple Maps

If you choose to use Apple Maps as your map source within the app then the services and software used to display these maps may collect information about you. This may include your location and the map regions you are looking at. Please refer to the Apple Privacy Policy for more information.

If you send us information

We collect information that you send us by email. This includes your email address, name and other information that you attach like app settings and logs.

Information Usage

We use the information we collect to provide functionality, improve the app and for customer support.

In general, we don't share information we collect with others. There are some exceptions:

• We may share information with service providers we use to provide functionality, such as our web hosting and email providers.
• We may share information where required by law.
• We may share information to deal with safety risks, fraud/abuse, and violations of our policies, or in order to protect our rights and property.
• If we are acquired, collected information may be part of the transferred assets.

Security

We employ reasonable security measures to protect collected information.

App Store Privacy Information

In the absence of specific App Store guidance from Google regarding the data collected by its maps framework, we have assumed that they collect location, usage and diagnostics data for improving their products and advertising. We will update this policy and our App Store privacy information once Google provides updated guidance.

We may update this policy from time to time.
